With support of the University of Washington Clean Energy Institute (CEI) Community Engagement Test Beds, we are working to investigate the effect of outreach participation among college students on their sense of belonging and science communication skills.
We are working to better understand the effectiveness of educational resources such as ColorMePhD on promoting participation from traditionally excluded minorities in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
We are researching how art can serve as a bridge to encourage interest and confidence in STEM subjects, with an emphasis on K12 students.
